Helldivers 2 has won Game of the Year at the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2024. The game also secured awards for Best Visual Design and Best Technical Innovation. The awards ceremony, hosted by the UK's games industry trade association, took place at Shoreditch Town Hall in London.
Despite initial strong sales of over 12 million units on PC and PlayStation 5, Helldivers 2 saw player numbers decline after some underwhelming patches. However, the player base has since seen a slight resurgence.
Dr. Richard Wilson OBE, CEO of TIGA, praised the UK games industry's "incredible talent, innovation, and passion." He congratulated all winners and nominees, highlighting their contributions to a "vibrant and pioneering industry."
