Huawei has announced the European launch of its Nova 13 series, featuring the Nova 13 and Nova 13 Pro. The devices focus on providing high-performance camera capabilities at a mid-range price point.
The Huawei Nova 13 will be available with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for €549 (US$576), whilst the Nova 13 Pro will offer 512 GB of storage for €699 (US$733). Huawei has yet to confirm a specific release date.
Key Differences
The main differences between the models are in their design and camera systems:
- Nova 13: Features a flat frame and a flat 6.7-inch display.
- Nova 13 Pro: Uses a 6.76-inch screen and a curved back cover.
Both models share a 120Hz OLED panel with an integrated fingerprint scanner.
Camera Specs
Both devices boast a 60MP f/2.4 selfie camera, but the Pro model adds an 8MP f/2.2 portrait camera. Key camera differences include:
- Nova 13: A 50MP main camera with a fixed f/1.9 aperture.
- Nova 13 Pro: A 50MP main camera with a variable aperture of f/1.4 to f/4.0, and an additional 12MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
Both models feature an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera.
Other Features
Both phones have a 5,000 mAh battery with 100W fast charging, enabling a charge from 3 to 50% in 9 minutes. Huawei has opted to omit wireless charging and a waterproof chassis to reduce production costs. The company hasn't released information regarding long-term software support.
