Lamborghini has revised its electrification plans, pushing back the release of its first fully electric vehicle by several years. The Italian automaker, which previously planned to launch EVs after 2025 and even unveiled the Lanzador concept with a 1 MW engine, is now prioritizing hybrid technology.
While Lamborghini initially aimed for a 2028 EV launch, the company will now focus on hybrid vehicles to adapt to market changes and customer demands. The first all-electric Lamborghini is now delayed until at least 2029, as the company believes the market isn't ready for a full EV lineup yet. CEO Stefan Winkelmann stated that current demand doesn't justify an immediate shift to a fully electric series.
Winkelmann emphasized that improvements in charging infrastructure and battery technology are critical to the electric transition. Lamborghini intends to closely monitor market demand and technological progress.
Currently, Lamborghini remains committed to producing hybrid models and preserving the unique driving experience of its vehicles.
