New leaks have surfaced regarding Lenovo's next gaming handheld, the Legion Go S. The device appears to take design cues from the Asus ROG Ally but with potential improvements, including a more powerful AMD APU and a modernized appearance.
Lenovo currently offers the first-generation Legion Go, but evidence suggests multiple successors are in development, including two second-generation models (8AHP2 and 8ASP2) with 8-inch displays and different AMD Ryzen Z2 APUs. The Legion Go S (8ARP1) was previously mentioned in an EEC filing and on Lenovo's support website.
Leaked Renders
Windows Central has published what are claimed to be official renders of the Legion Go S, showcasing a design strikingly similar to the Asus ROG Ally. However, the Legion Go S appears to have slimmer bezels than even the ROG Ally X.
Notable design changes include the removal of detachable controllers and a shift from black to a lighter color scheme. The Legion Go S also seems to feature an optical mouse sensor instead of the larger trackpad found on the original Legion Go, and it retains two USB ports (presumably USB4).
While pricing and a release date remain unknown, the increasing frequency of leaks hints at a potential unveiling at CES 2025 in Las Vegas next month.
