A new leak showcases Lenovo's upcoming ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, which is set to introduce an industry-first extendable display innovation. Instead of a foldable or rollable screen, the laptop features a second screen mounted on rails, which can be pulled out from the back to add extra screen real estate.
This innovative design is a departure from the previous ThinkBook Plus Gen 5, which combined a tablet and laptop chassis. The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 is expected to be unveiled at CES 2025.
Unique Extendable Display
Leaked renders from Evan Blass clearly demonstrate the secondary display sliding out from the back of the laptop using a railing system. This approach offers an innovative solution for adding screen space to a laptop, something many manufacturers have struggled to achieve effectively.
While specific technical details are still unknown, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 is speculated to use an Intel Arrow Lake-H or an AMD Strix/Krackan Point CPU.
