Liquid AI, an AI startup co-founded by robotics expert Daniela Rus, has raised $250 million in a Series A funding round led by AMD. This investment values Liquid AI at over $2 billion, according to Bloomberg.
Liquid Neural Networks: A New Approach to AI
Liquid AI is focused on developing general-purpose AI systems powered by liquid neural networks. These networks differ from traditional AI models by using equations to predict the behavior of individual "neurons" over time. This architecture allows for more flexibility and is inspired by the neural structures found in roundworms.
Liquid neural networks are significantly smaller than conventional AI models and require much less computational power to operate.
