According to MacRumors, the update includes code for "Mac16,12" and "Mac16,13," believed to be the model identifiers for the new 13-inch and 15-inch M4 MacBook Airs.
Minimal Design Changes Expected
Given the minimal design changes in the recently released M4 MacBook Pro line, it's anticipated that the new M4 MacBook Air models will also retain a similar design. The references found also indicate that the display sizes will remain unchanged at 13-inch and 15-inch.
Pricing and Configurations
Apple's previous move to increase the base configuration of the M4 MacBook Pro (16GB RAM and 512GB storage) hints at a similar strategy for the M4 MacBook Air. With the current M3 13-inch MacBook Air (16GB/512GB) selling for around $1099 after discounts, pricing the M4 model competitively will be crucial for success. A speculated starting price of around $1199 could potentially make the M4 MacBook Air a strong contender in the market.
