Minisforum has released a new version of its AMD Dragon Range-based motherboard, the BD795M, offering a budget-friendly entry point to a high-core-count system. This Mini-ITX board is powered by the 16-core Ryzen 9 7945HX mobile processor and can be used as a desktop PC, home theater PC, or even a home server.
The BD795M is a more affordable alternative to the existing BD790i series, featuring a few minor physical differences. The board retains the core specifications, including support for:
- 16-core Ryzen 9 7945HX mobile processor
- Up to two M.2 2280 SSDs (one PCIe 5.0)
- DDR5 memory up to 5200 MT/s (max 96GB SODIMM)
- Full-size PCIe 5.0 x16 slot
Changes in the BD795M
The key difference with the BD795M is that it does not include a CPU cooler, requiring users to source their own. Additionally, the BD795M lacks an SSD heatsink and an SSD fan connector, but it does come with an internal antenna adapter.
These omissions allow for a lower price point, making it more appealing for DIY enthusiasts. The board has an LGA-1700 socket-compatible mounting system, allowing for the use of a variety of air coolers or AIO liquid coolers.
