Minisforum has launched a new, more affordable version of its AMD Ryzen-powered 2-in-1 device, the Minisforum V3 SE. This new model makes some sacrifices in specifications to reach a lower price point than the standard V3.
V3 SE vs. V3: Key Differences
The V3 SE arrives globally just over a month after its debut in China. Here are the key differences compared to the original V3:
- Processor: The V3 SE uses an AMD Ryzen 7 7735U APU, which offers about 15% less CPU performance and roughly 10% less iGPU performance than the Ryzen 7 8840U found in the original V3.
- Display: The V3 SE features a 1200p resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and 320-nit display, while the V3 boasts a higher-resolution 1600p display with a 165Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness.
Both models retain the same 14-inch 16:10 form factor, 50.82 Wh battery, M.2 2280 SSD, and LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 6,400 MT/s.
Pricing and Availability
The Minisforum V3 SE is currently available directly from Minisforum for $799 with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. It is expected to be available on Amazon soon for the same price.
