MSI X870 Motherboards Support 192GB DDR5 at 6400 MT/s
MSI's X870 and X870E motherboards now support up to 192GB of DDR5 RAM at speeds of 6400 MT/s with a new BIOS update.
MSI has announced a new BIOS update for its X870E and X870 series motherboards, enabling support for up to 192GB of DDR5 memory at speeds of 6400 MT/s. The 192GB configuration requires all four DDR5 DIMM slots to be filled with 48GB modules. While AMD currently doesn't support 64GB modules, this may change in the future. Typically, it's recommended to use two DDR5 modules with Ryzen CPUs to maintain the 1:1 Infinity Fabric ratio and optimal memory speeds. However, MSI's update now allows for high-capacity, four-slot memory configurations at 6400 MT/s. According to reports from Chinese media, this speed can be achieved with SK Hynix memory in both 192GB and 128GB configurations. However, with Micron-based memory, speeds are limited to 6000 MT/s.
