No Elden Ring Sequel Planned Anytime Soon

FromSoftware has confirmed there are no immediate plans for an Elden Ring sequel, focusing instead on other projects.

Despite the massive success of Elden Ring and its DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, FromSoftware has confirmed that there are no immediate plans for a sequel. In an interview with IGN Japan, director Hidetaka Miyazaki stated that the studio is currently focused on several new projects, some of which he isn't directly involved with.

No Elden Ring Sequel Planned Anytime Soon

This news follows an earlier confirmation that Shadow of the Erdtree would be the only DLC for Elden Ring. This expansive DLC was so substantial that The Game Awards changed its rules to allow it to be nominated for Game of the Year.

While previous FromSoftware titles often received multiple post-launch additions, this trend seems to have shifted. Bloodborne only received one DLC, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice received none.

"There will be a wide variety of genres, so I hope you’ll look forward to it." - Hidetaka Miyazaki

It's too early to speculate about the nature of these new projects. Fans are hoping for a Bloodborne sequel, but a new Sekiro or Armored Core title seems more likely.
