NVIDIA Reportedly Planning Second HQ in Taiwan

NVIDIA is reportedly establishing a second headquarters in Taiwan, prioritizing local employees and recognizing the region's importance to the company

NVIDIA is reportedly planning to establish a "secondary" headquarters in Taiwan, fulfilling CEO Jensen Huang's commitment to local employees and recognizing the region's crucial role in the company's success.

NVIDIA Reportedly Planning Second HQ in Taiwan

According to reports from Ctee, NVIDIA views Taiwan as equally important as the US, where its primary headquarters is located. NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, has repeatedly emphasized Taiwan's significance to the company's success during recent visits. The new facility is intended to operate as a secondary headquarters to the main office in the US.

NVIDIA is reportedly seeking up to 3 hectares of land for the new HQ. However, acquiring such a large area in Taipei City has proven challenging. The company has already leased a 10,000-square-foot office space in Taipei’s Nangang District as a temporary workplace for its Taiwan division, but they remain committed to building a dedicated facility. The proposed site might be moved north of Taipei if suitable land cannot be found in the capital.

NVIDIA previously announced plans for a Taiwan-based R&D center with up to 1,000 engineers. It is likely that the proposed HQ will be a part of this expansion plan, highlighting NVIDIA's commitment to growing its presence in Taiwan. Having a facility in Taiwan is vital due to the region's importance in NVIDIA's supply chain, its strategic partnerships, and its large employee base.

The increasing geopolitical tensions in the region also add a layer of uncertainty to NVIDIA's decision, raising questions about how Taiwan's current situation might affect the company's operations in the future.
