NVIDIA RTX 5080: 30 Gbps GDDR7 Memory Tipped
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 is rumored to be the only card in the upcoming Blackwell gaming series to feature 30 Gbps GDDR7 memory, according to a report from Benchlife. Other RTX 50 series cards will reportedly use 28 Gbps modules. GDDR7 Memory The RTX 50 series will introduce GDDR7 memory, enabling higher speeds and improved bandwidth. The RTX 5090 is expected to surpass 1.7 TB/s of bandwidth due to its 512-bit memory bus, while other cards will benefit from increased bandwidth through the faster memory. RTX 5080 Memory Specs The RTX 5080 is rumored to feature 16GB of GDDR7 memory on a 256-bit memory bus, providing a bandwidth of 960 GB/s. For comparison, the RTX 4080 offers 716 GB/s, and the RTX 4080 SUPER provides 736 GB/s. The 960 GB/s bandwidth is slightly less than the RTX 4090, which uses a wider memory bus. NVIDIA is reportedly not planning on any 16GB+ models other than the RTX 5090, at least until 3GB GDDR7 modules are available. This could create a significant gap in specs b…
