The OnePlus Ace 5 series has been officially launched in China, and the standard model is expected to debut globally as the OnePlus 13R. However, it seems the global version will not have identical specifications to its Chinese counterpart, specifically in terms of battery capacity.
While the OnePlus 12R mirrored the specs of the Ace 3, this time the OnePlus 13R will reportedly feature a 6,000 mAh battery, as seen on the company's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship launching globally on January 7th. This contrasts with the Chinese OnePlus Ace 5, which boasts a larger 6,400 mAh battery, a significant upgrade over its predecessor.
The 6,400 mAh battery makes the OnePlus Ace 5 the phone with the largest battery within OnePlus's current lineup. This isn't the first time a global phone has had a smaller battery than its Chinese variant; the Realme GT 7 Pro saw a similar change, with a 6,500 mAh battery in China compared to a 5,800 mAh battery in India. These changes usually occur due to regional compliance standards.
It's also possible that the advertised battery capacity of the OnePlus 13R on the official teaser page is simply an error, as it is featured on the same page as the OnePlus 13. It remains to be seen whether this downgrade will be confirmed upon the phone's global release.
