OnePlus has announced a "worry-free solution" to address the persistent issue of green lines appearing on its smartphone displays. The company is implementing a three-pronged approach to tackle the problem.
Enhanced Display Technology
OnePlus is introducing an "Enhanced Bonding Layer" in its AMOLED displays. This layer utilizes PVX edge-sealing material to create a barrier against moisture and oxygen penetration, ultimately extending the lifespan of the screen and reducing the likelihood of green line defects.
Rigorous Quality Checks
The company has also implemented more stringent quality control measures. OnePlus phones now undergo over 180 tests simulating extreme real-world conditions to minimize the risk of green line issues.
Lifetime Warranty
Perhaps the most significant part of this announcement is the lifetime warranty against green line defects for all OnePlus smartphones, including older models. Even if your phone is out of its standard warranty, OnePlus will replace the display if green lines appear.
This isn't OnePlus's first attempt to address this issue. They previously offered discounts to affected users in India. However, this lifetime warranty represents a much stronger commitment to customer satisfaction.
