According to leaker Digital Chat Station, OnePlus is working on a compact flagship smartphone featuring the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This follows previous rumors about the device, with new details emerging about its display, camera, and potential release timeframe.
The phone is rumored to sport a 6.3X-inch display, placing it in competition with the Vivo X200 Pro Mini. However, like Vivo's compact flagship, the OnePlus device might compromise on camera hardware. It reportedly won't include a periscope sensor, unlike the OnePlus 13. Instead, it's tipped to feature a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor.
The design is also expected to differ from the OnePlus 13, with a horizontal camera island similar to the Google Pixel series, rather than a circular camera bump. OnePlus is currently testing an engineering sample, deciding whether to use a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
While the phone may launch in China under the Ace brand, possibly as the Ace 5 Mini, it's not expected to debut alongside the other Ace 5 phones this month. Instead, a Q2 2025 release in China seems more likely.
