The Onexplayer G1 combines a compact gaming laptop design with a detachable keyboard, featuring the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU and versatile controls.

The Onexplayer G1 has been revealed, blurring the lines between a compact gaming laptop and a handheld gaming device. Officially classified as a laptop, it's designed for comfortable hand-held use while maintaining a relatively small form factor.

Display and Connectivity

The G1 features an 8.8-inch display, reportedly with a 2.5K resolution and up to a 144Hz refresh rate. It includes both USB4 and OCuLink ports for external graphics card support, using two of the most popular connection methods.

Powerful AMD Processor

At its core, the G1 is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU, part of the Strix Point family. This processor features 12 Zen 5 cores and RDNA 3.5 graphics with 16 Compute Units. While yet to debut under the Ryzen Z2 series, this same processor is also found in other handhelds like the Onexplayer F1 Pro.

Versatile Controls

The G1 weighs 900 grams and includes a detachable magnetic keyboard. Users can control the system using either the physical keyboard or the dedicated game controllers hidden beneath it. The detachable keyboard has a traditional layout with physical buttons, while the keyboard beneath uses capacitive input. The physical game controllers are separate from both keyboards, offering a dedicated gaming experience.

Availability and Recommendation

The Onexplayer G1 is not yet available for purchase. As always, we recommend caution with pre-orders, especially through crowdfunding platforms. It's important to wait for independent reviews to assess the device's performance and quality. Onexplayer is also known for high pricing, so this will likely be an expensive niche product.
