Originally slated for November 15th, the early access release was delayed to December 6th to allow for server upgrades and resolve compatibility issues with the original Path of Exile 's code. This also ensures seamless account and microtransaction functionality between both games. Game director Jonathan Rogers acknowledged the unexpected number of early access redemptions, stating, "We really didn't expect to have more than one million people online at the same time." While the studio is actively working to scale its systems, the ability of the infrastructure to handle the influx of players remains to be seen.
