Grinding Gear Games (GGG) has wasted no time in addressing balance issues in Path of Exile 2's early access launch. Several skills deemed overpowered have received nerfs in a series of hotfixes.
Supercharged Slam Nerfed
The first skill to receive attention was Supercharged Slam, a mace skill that was dealing excessive damage for its short charge time. GGG quickly nerfed the skill's damage and plans to adjust its charge time later.
"As much as we are trying to avoid nerfing skills...it is better to do this early..." - GGG
We've found another skill in an unacceptable balance state. Following the same ideals as earlier, we're also going to be reducing the damage of Magnetic Salvo in the next hotfix. Note that this isn't the only skill on our radar right now but we're really just trying to address…

Magnetic Salvo and Gas Cloud Adjustments
Magnetic Salvo, a bow skill that caused disproportionately high damage with exploding lightning arrows, also received a damage reduction. GGG described the skill's damage as "egregious."
Gas Cloud skills, including Gas Grenade and Gas Arrow, also received nerfs to their explosion damage. The ease of triggering these explosions, particularly with skills like Flame Wall, led to unintendedly high damage output. GGG aims to eventually tie explosion damage to the detonating skill rather than the gas cloud itself.
