Path of Exile 2: Weapon Set Points Explained

What Are Weapon Set Points?

Weapon Set Points are additional passive skill points that activate only when a specific weapon loadout is equipped. You have two weapon slots (I and II) and can allocate separate Weapon Set Points for each. These points are used to further specialize your builds based on the weapons you are currently using.

Your base Passive Skill Points always apply, while Weapon Set Points activate on top of that for increased customization based on your equipped weapons. This allows for unique and adaptive builds depending on combat scenarios and enemy types.

Allocating Weapon Set Points

  1. In the Passive Skill Tree, locate the sections for "I Weapon Set" and "II Weapon Set".
  2. Allocate points to the desired set as you would with regular passive skills. Note the different colored paths for your Weapon Set Points in the Passive Skill Tree.
  3. Repeat for both Weapon Sets. Points are allocated separately to each set, meaning you don't share points between them.
  4. Swap weapons to see the skill tree adapt to your chosen loadout. To refund points, use the same process as refunding regular skill points.

Acquiring More Weapon Set Points

To obtain additional Weapon Set Points, you need Books of Specialization. Each Book grants two Weapon Set Points (for both sets simultaneously). These are acquired by:

  • Defeating Bosses: Both major and minor bosses have a chance (higher for major bosses) of dropping Books of Specialization.
  • Completing Quests: Check quest rewards; some quests offer Books of Specialization as a reward upon completion.
