Qualcomm unveils the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform with improved CPU and GPU performance for next-gen VR/AR headsets.
Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 Platform, its latest chipset for VR headsets and smart glasses. This new processor builds upon the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 with significant performance improvements and will power Samsung's upcoming Project Moohan headset as well as future devices from other manufacturers. Enhanced Performance and Features The Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 boasts a 15% higher GPU and a 20% higher CPU max frequency compared to the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2, which powers the Meta Quest 3S. It also supports up to 4.3K x 4.3K per-eye resolution at 90 frames per second. Other features include: Full-color ultra-fast 12ms video see-through latency for seamless transitions between virtual and real environments. On-device AI support for 12 or more concurrent cameras. Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity.
