Design, Display, and Battery Life

The Red Magic 10 Pro retains the series' distinctive aesthetic: an angular body with a flush camera setup and an RGB-lit mini-fan. The vent for the fan, however, means there's no water resistance. Android Police praised the phone's premium feel, thanks to its glass back and aircraft-grade aluminum frame. Color options include Dusk (semi-transparent back), black, and white. Designed for gaming, the button placement is optimized for landscape mode. Customizable shoulder triggers and a physical Game Space mode switch are also present. A 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster are included. The fingerprint scanner is optical, and the stereo speakers are surprisingly loud.

The phone is sizable, weighing 229g with a 9mm thickness and a 6.85-inch AMOLED display. The display boasts a 2688x1216 resolution (431 ppi), 144Hz refresh rate, and 10-bit color depth. Brightness has been improved, reaching 711 nits in manual mode and 1596 nits with auto-brightness, according to reviewers. While not record-breaking, these are respectable figures, sufficient for outdoor use. Although LTPO dynamic refresh rate isn't supported, the phone switches between 60Hz (idle/video) and 120/144Hz in other scenarios.

The large 7050mAh battery supports 100W charging, though the included adapter is 80W. GSMArena reported a full charge in 35 minutes. Battery life is excellent, clocking in at 17 hours and 13 minutes in their mixed usage test, on par with the ROG Phone 9 Pro and realme GT 7 Pro. In dedicated gaming tests, the Red Magic 10 Pro lasted almost 14 hours, the best result among devices tested by GSMArena.

Performance and Camera

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Red Magic 10 Pro comes with 12/16GB of RAM and 256/512GB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage. Despite the new storage standard's theoretical 8GB/s read speeds, benchmarks showed around 4GB/s, similar to UFS 4.0/4.1. CPU performance is excellent, but GPU performance lags slightly behind other Snapdragon 8 Elite devices, possibly due to software optimization that could be addressed in future updates.

BenchmarkScore
AnTuTu 102,687,260
Geekbench 6 Single-Core3,128
Geekbench 6 Multi-Core9,833
3DMark Wild Life Extreme5,820

Sustained load performance is somewhat disappointing. In the CPU Throttling test, the system maintained only 54% of its peak performance with passive cooling and 57% with the active cooler. While these results represent an extreme scenario, no heating or lag was observed during gaming sessions. The GPU maintained 73% and 93.7% of its peak performance in the 3DMark stress test, respectively. Gaming frame rates depend on the game; many titles are capped at 60fps. Where supported, 120fps and 144fps are achievable.

The Redmagic OS 10, based on Android 15, promises only one major OS update to Android 16, a couple of firmware updates, and three years of security patches. Unique features include the GameSpace overlay for monitoring frame rates, customizing GPU/CPU profiles, and adjusting display settings. The Red Magic Studio app enables convenient screen mirroring to a monitor via USB.

The triple camera system includes a 50MP OmniVision OV50E40 main sensor (with OIS), a 50MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. The under-display front camera is a 16MP OmniVision OV16E1Q. Tech Radar found the camera performance more in line with a mid-range device than a premium one. Images are adequately sharp in good lighting, but dynamic range suffers in challenging scenes, with poor shadow and highlight balance. Fine details like foliage can appear smudged. Ultrawide shots are also unimpressive. Selfies have improved over the previous generation, with decent sharpness, accurate colors, and fewer artifacts. However, direct sunlight can cause noticeable glare on the under-display lens.

The Red Magic 10 Pro starts at $649.
