Retailers Accidentally Ship Intel Arc B580 Early

Some retailers have mistakenly shipped the unreleased Intel Arc B580 graphics card, confusing it with the Arc A580.

Several gamers have received their Intel Arc B580 graphics cards ahead of the official launch due to a shipping error by retailers. The mix-up stems from the similar naming of the new Battlemage-based Arc B580 and the existing Alchemist-based Arc A580.

Retailers confirmed that the B580 cards were either mislabeled as A580 in their systems or that shipping staff simply overlooked the "B" in the product name. Intel's naming scheme, which uses letters to denote different generations (A for Alchemist, B for Battlemage) while keeping similar SKU numbers (like 580), contributed to the confusion.

At least three instances of early B580 shipments have been confirmed. However, those lucky recipients cannot share performance data yet due to the lack of available drivers. Furthermore, while they could potentially reveal the card's PCB design, doing so would risk voiding their warranties.
