Samsung is reportedly planning to revitalize its voice assistant, Bixby, with the Galaxy S25 series, incorporating large language models (LLMs) for enhanced capabilities. This move is expected to be a key selling point, alongside the continued focus on Galaxy AI.
Bixby's AI Upgrade
According to a report from ETNews, Bixby will be significantly upgraded with LLMs, allowing it to interact with users in a manner similar to ChatGPT and Gemini. Bixby will assist with tasks like navigation, choosing outfits, and more, using information from installed apps, calendar events, browser searches, and displayed content.
The integration of LLMs was initially planned for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 but was reportedly delayed. The upgraded Bixby is also expected to be available on the special edition foldable phones sold exclusively in China and South Korea, as well as Galaxy S10 tablets.
Well-known leaker Ice Universe has called the upgraded Bixby the "biggest selling point" of the Galaxy S25 series, although this may be somewhat sarcastic.
