A new leak suggests that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will offer a 16GB RAM option for its higher storage tiers. While the base model will reportedly stick with 12GB of RAM, those opting for more storage will also get a boost in memory.
According to tipster @jukanlosreve on X (formerly Twitter), the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available in three configurations:
- 12GB RAM + 256GB Storage
- 16GB RAM + 512GB Storage
- 16GB RAM + 1TB Storage
This RAM increase for the higher-end models aligns with previous rumors and positions the S25 Ultra competitively against rivals like the Pixel 9 Pro and OnePlus 13, which already offer 16GB RAM options. This strategy likely aims to incentivize customers to purchase the more expensive models.
The return of the 16GB RAM option marks a shift for Samsung, as the Galaxy S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, and S24 Ultra all capped out at 12GB. The Galaxy S20 Ultra and S21 Ultra were the last Samsung flagships to offer this much memory.
While Samsung hasn't officially announced a launch date, rumors point towards an Unpacked event on January 22nd.
