Samsung has begun rolling out the One UI 7 beta, based on Android 15, for its Galaxy S24 series. This update brings a significant overhaul to the user interface and introduces several new AI-powered features.
Redesigned Interface and New Features
One UI 7 boasts a revamped design, affecting everything from widgets to system icons. The notification tray and Quick Settings have been separated, offering users more customization options. The lock screen also receives new tweaking options.
Key features of One UI 7 include:
- Now Bar: Displays contextual information from notifications, similar to Apple's Dynamic Island. Real-time updates on activities like workouts are shown, though third-party app integration is still unclear.
- AI-Powered Tools: "Writing assist" tools offer summarizing and spell-checking capabilities. Call transcripts provide a review of conversations when recording is enabled.
- Updated Camera App: Noteworthy changes to the camera app further enhance the update.
Availability
The One UI 7 beta is initially available for the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra in the US, UK, Korea, India, Poland, and Germany. The full release is expected in early 2025.
