The Game Awards saw the reveal of Split Fiction, the latest co-op title from Hazelight Studios, known for It Takes Two. Josef Fares, the studio's founder, announced the game, which is being published by Electronic Arts, at the event.
Split Fiction, which was rumored online prior to its official announcement, is set to launch on March 6, 2025. Hazelight Studios, who are recognized for the critically-acclaimed It Takes Two, which sold over 20 million copies and won Game of the Year in 2021, is bringing a new co-op experience with a mix of science fiction and fantasy elements.
A Sci-Fi and Fantasy Co-op Adventure
In Split Fiction, players take on the roles of Mio and Zoe as they work together to reclaim their creative legacies while developing an unexpected friendship. The reveal trailer showcases some humorous moments and gameplay mechanics.

Gameplay will feature unique mechanics and abilities as players explore both sci-fi and fantasy settings, including challenges such as dance battles with monkeys, being a pig on a trampoline, and hoverboard tricks. The game is designed to be fun and accessible for all ages.

Split Fiction will launch on March 6, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app for $49.99.
