Vivo is reportedly planning to release just one foldable Android smartphone in 2025, the "X Fold5" (or "5 Pro"), alongside its first-ever extended reality (XR) headset, aimed at competing with the Apple Vision Pro.
This strategic shift means that Vivo will no longer release multiple foldable phones per year. The X Fold5 Pro is expected to be the direct successor to the top-end X Fold3 Pro, which had an international release.
Expected Features
The Vivo X Fold5 Pro is rumored to feature:
- Cutting-edge specs, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC.
- A potential release in the third quarter of 2025.
Vivo's XR Headset
In addition to the foldable phone, Vivo will also enter the XR headset market in 2025. The headset is expected to be a competitor to the Apple Vision Pro and Samsung's Project Moohan.
Vivo X200 Ultra
The upcoming Vivo X200 Ultra, a candy-bar flagship, might follow in its predecessor's footsteps in supporting the creation of immersive content with its advanced Zeiss cameras. It will also reportedly debut with a new Vivo V-series co-processor, alongside its own Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, in early 2025.
