Saber Interactive has released a community update outlining its plans for Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 in 2025. The roadmap includes significant additions to both PvP and PvE content, along with new customization options.
PvP Enhancements
Responding to community feedback, Saber is prioritizing PvP content in 2025. The next update, Patch 7.0, will introduce a new PvP map designed for close-quarters combat, emphasizing tighter corridors. This patch will also include custom PvP lobbies, allowing players to adjust modifiers, player counts (up to 6v6), match timers, score limits, and class restrictions.
PvE Content and New Features
In addition to PvP, the game will see significant PvE expansions, including the previously announced Horde mode. New missions, enemies, and a new difficulty level (with corresponding rewards) will also be added. A Prestige Rank feature will debut in Season 3, allowing further class upgrades.
The next Champion character to be added is the Salamander, a sniper-type character available in both PvE and PvP modes. More customization options are also on the horizon, including the Mark VI Corvus armor set and expansions to the Battle Barge hub, such as the Data Vault area which will contain unlockable information about enemies.
Ongoing Support
Saber Interactive has continued to release regular patches for the game, with the Obelisk update being the most recent one. This patch included a new PvE co-op operation, support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3 on PC, and support for PlayStation 5 Pro on console.
The aggressive roadmap is not unexpected given the success of the game since launch in September, having sold over five million units. Saber aims to maintain player engagement with a steady stream of updates and new features.
