Fans of Arkane Studios' Dishonored and Prey have something to look forward to. Raphaël Colantonio, Arkane's founder, has hinted that WolfEye Studios' next project will blend elements from those beloved titles with a deeper RPG layer.
While the Dishonored franchise remains dormant, with Arkane Austin shut down and Arkane Lyon working on Marvel's Blade, Colantonio assures fans that WolfEye's upcoming game will feel familiar.
"People who loved Dishonored and Prey are going to feel very at home... We are just going full on into that kind of game... And I think there are going to be even more choices this time because of the RPG layer."
The game will retain the first-person perspective of Dishonored but will also incorporate shooter-like gameplay. Colantonio expressed surprise that the combination of RPG and first-person shooter hasn't been explored more extensively.
"There is something about real-time decision making...that makes us feel more in the moment, more immersed."
Details about the game are scarce, but we know it's set in a steampunk world and is more ambitious than WolfEye's debut title, Weird West, thanks to early investment. A limited alpha test is scheduled for next year, with sign-ups available on the official WolfEye Studios website.
