Baldur's Gate III Developers Shift Focus to New Game, Enter "Media Blackout"

Larian Studios, creators of Baldur's Gate III, have announced they are entering a 'media blackout' to focus entirely on developing their next game.

Following the immense success of Baldur's Gate III, Larian Studios, now a fan-favorite game developer, has announced it's shifting its entire focus to developing a brand new game. The studio is now entering what they are calling a "media blackout," to dedicate themselves entirely to this upcoming project.

Larian Enters "Media Blackout"

In a conversation with Videogamer, representatives from Larian Studios stated that they are intentionally stepping back from the public eye. This "media blackout" will allow the team to fully concentrate on the creation of their next title. While a small portion of the team will continue to support Baldur's Gate III with minor tweaks and small patches, the main focus is now entirely on the new game.

What's Next for Larian?

The specific details about Larian Studios’ new project are still under wraps. Previously, Swen Vincke hinted that their new game would be something amazing, though he cautioned players would need to be patient. However, it is confirmed that the project is not Baldur's Gate IV, and it's unlikely to be a sequel in the Divinity series either.
