Motion Blur, a Turkish indie developer, has been gaining attention for their upcoming third-person shooter, Black State. At CES 2025, IGN captured three and a half minutes of new gameplay footage in stunning 4K resolution, demonstrating the game's impressive visuals and stealth-focused gameplay.
Impressive Visuals and Performance
Despite being developed by an indie studio, Black State’s photorealism is striking. The game is built on Unreal Engine 5, however, it does not utilize built-in Lume and Nanite features. Instead, Motion Blur has developed their own "special pipeline" after R&D, promising great visuals and unbelievable optimization.
Black State is also confirmed to support NVIDIA DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation, ensuring great performance on NVIDIA’s new GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards.
Story and Gameplay
In Black State, players take on the role of a character summoned by a secret group of scientists called the Architects for a mysterious mission. Players will need to save captives and uncover the truth behind a cataclysmic event. Gameplay features:
- Seamless level transitions without loading screens, leading to different adventures.
- A vast array of weapons, including pistols, rifles, shotguns, and unique explosive devices.
- Close-quarters combat with over a hundred cinematic kill moves.
- Intense combat and stealth sequences against both human tactical forces and robot-like killing machines.
- Boss battles with unique patterns and mechanics.
The game's emphasis on stealth and tactical gameplay appears to be greatly inspired by KONAMI's Metal Gear Solid series.
