ECS has prematurely announced the first laptop featuring AMD's upcoming "Krackan" APU. The ECS UP42KP, a 14-inch laptop, is set to debut at CES 2025, showcasing the new mid-range APU. AMD Krackan APU Details The AMD "Krackan" APU, officially known as the Ryzen AI 350/340 series, will feature: 8 Zen 5(c) CPU cores RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics XDNA2 NPU for AI processing 40 TOPS performance for the NPU TDP range of 15W to 54W ECS UP42KP Laptop Specifications The ECS UP42KP laptop includes the following key features: 14-inch display DDR5-5600 memory 16 PCIe lanes for enhanced performance Targeted at the mainstream mid-range market The use of standard DDR5-5600 memory (as opposed to LPDDR5X) is noteworthy as it will likely reduce costs and allow users to upgrade.
