G.Skill has unveiled a new form factor of DDR5 memory, the CSO-DIMM, designed for high-performance use specifically with the ASRock DeskMini B860 PC. This new memory aims to push the limits of compact desktop performance.
G.Skill's CSO-DIMM: Bridging the Gap
While SO-DIMM memory is typically used in laptops, G.Skill has partnered with ASRock to bring the new CSO-DIMM form factor to the DeskMini B860 desktop system. What sets CSO-DIMM apart is its "Clock Driver," which enhances stability and performance through improved clock signal retiming and distribution. This allows the memory to achieve higher speeds while maintaining signal integrity.
Performance on ASRock DeskMini B860
The ASRock DeskMini B860 system is the first to utilize this new memory. It features an Intel Core Ultra 9 285 processor with 24 cores, along with the ASRock B860M-STX motherboard in a compact chassis. G.Skill's testing has shown that the CSO-DIMM DDR5 memory can reach speeds of up to 8133 MT/s with a 2x 24GB configuration and a latency of CL46-52-52-130.
