Capcom has revealed that a second open beta test for the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds is on its way, offering players another chance to experience the game before its full release in late February.
New Beta Features: The Return of Gypceros
Announced by Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, the second beta will feature a significant addition: the returning monster Gypceros. This new hunt will give players a different challenge compared to the first beta. The test also includes character creation, story trial, and the Doshaguma quest. Character creation data from the previous beta will be carried over, and that same character data can be transferred to the full game upon purchase. However, game progress will not be saved.
Special Items for Beta Participants
Players who participated in either of the open beta tests will receive special in-game items in the full game. These include a decorative weapon charm (Seikret) and an item pack.
Beta Test Dates and Feedback
Capcom is actively working on improving Monster Hunter Wilds based on feedback from the first open beta. However, these improvements won't be available in this second beta, which will occur during the following timeframes:
- February 6 - 9: Starting and ending at 7 PM Pacific Time
- February 13 - 16: Starting and ending at 7 PM Pacific Time
High Anticipation for Monster Hunter Wilds
As a follow-up to the critically acclaimed Monster Hunter World, Monster Hunter Wilds is generating massive hype. The series' ability to smooth out the rough edges of its gameplay formula is expected to result in another highly engaging experience. The game is scheduled for release on February 28 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
