Motorola has kicked off 2025 with the launch of two new smartphones: the updated Moto G and the Moto G Power (2025). Both models offer notable improvements over their predecessors, with the Moto G retaining its attractive $199.99 starting price.
Moto G (2025): Upgrades at a Budget
The new Moto G (2025) features a refreshed design and several key upgrades:
- New design with a vegan leather back and raised camera housing.
- 6.7-inch 720p 120Hz IPS display.
- 50 MP main rear camera.
- 16 MP selfie camera.
- MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset.
- 4GB of RAM, with options for 64 GB or 128 GB storage.
- 5,000 mAh battery with 30W wired charging.
The Moto G (2025) will be available in the US on January 30 for $199.99 and in Canada on May 2.
Moto G Power (2025): Enhanced Durability and a Bigger Display
The Moto G Power (2025) offers a larger display and improved durability, although with a different chipset:
- 6.8-inch 120Hz IPS LCD display with 2388 x 1080 resolution and Gorilla Glass 5.
- 50MP main rear camera with OIS, 8MP ultrawide camera.
- 16MP front-facing camera.
- MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor.
- 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of expandable storage.
- 5,000mAh battery with 30W wired and 15W wireless charging.
- IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, and MIL-STD 810H certification.
- Android 15 operating system.
- Fingerprint scanner, Face Unlock, ThinkShield protection, audio jack, stereo speakers, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, and dual SIM support.
The Moto G Power (2025) is priced at $299.99 and will be available unlocked starting February 6 from Motorola's website, Amazon, and BestBuy, as well as through select carriers.
Availability
The Moto G 2025 is launching January 30th and the Moto G Power 2025 will be available to buy starting on February 6th. Both models are arriving in Canada on May 2.
