MSI has expanded its Vector gaming laptop lineup at CES 2025 with the introduction of the Vector 16 HX AI and Vector 17 HX AI models. Both laptops pack cutting-edge hardware from Intel and Nvidia, designed for high-performance gaming and content creation.
MSI Vector 16 HX AI: Powerful and Portable
The MSI Vector 16 HX AI offers impressive specs in a relatively large 16-inch chassis, including:
- 16-inch display with 2560x1600 resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut
- Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX or Core Ultra 9 275HX processor (Arrow Lake)
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 (16GB GDDR7) or RTX 5070 Ti (12GB GDDR7) laptop GPU
- Dual PCIe Gen 5 x4 storage slots, up to 96 GB DDR5 SODIMM RAM (2 slots)
- Two Thunderbolt 5 ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, SD card slot, HDMI 2.1, 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, combo headphone/microphone jack
- Two 2W speakers, Wi-Fi 7 (Intel Killer BE1750) or Wi-Fi 6E (Intel AX211), Bluetooth 5.4 or 5.3
- Windows 11 Home or Pro
- 90 Wh battery
The Vector 16 HX AI measures 357x284x28.55 mm and weighs 2.7 kg (5.95 lbs). MSI has not announced pricing at press time.
MSI Vector 17 HX AI: Top-of-the-Line Performance
The larger MSI Vector 17 HX AI features:
- 17-inch QHD+ (2560x1600) IPS panel with 240 Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 coverage
- Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor (Arrow Lake)
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (12 GB GDDR7), 5080 (16 GB GDDR7), or 5090 (24 GB GDDR7) laptop GPU options
- Dual PCIe Gen 5 x4 NVMe drive slots
- Two Thunderbolt 5 ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, HDMI 2.1, SD card reader, 2.5 Gbps Ethernet, 3.5 mm combo audio jack
- Intel Killer BE1750 wireless card supporting WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4
- Windows 11 Home or Pro
- 90 Wh battery, FHD webcam with IR, 24-zone RGB keyboard with Windows Copilot key.
The Vector 17 HX AI is quite large, measuring 380x298x28.75 mm and weighing 3 kg (6.6 lbs). MSI has not revealed pricing details yet.
