A group of enthusiasts has been developing an unofficial remake of Need for Speed: Underground 2 using Unreal Engine 5. The project is alive and well, and they've just released a demo version. The original Need for Speed: Underground 2 was released in November 2004. While considered a traditional sequel to the groundbreaking Need for Speed: Underground, it is very popular among fans, with some even considering it underappreciated compared to the original Underground and Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
