NPadF: Compact and Affordable 2-in-1 Laptop Debuts on Kickstarter
Looking for a compact 2-in-1 without breaking the bank? Meet the NPadF. This is a fresh entry in the 2-in-1 convertible laptop market. Launched on Kickstarter, this device is forging its own path. It offers a unique form factor and an attractive starting price of just $499.
A New Take on the 2-in-1 Design
While most 2-in-1s go the detachable keyboard route, like the Surface Pro, the NPadF takes another route. It is designed with a unique 'wallet-style A-shell'. This could be considered a middle ground between the flexible Surface Laptop Studio 2 and the ultra-compact One-Netbook 5. There's a promise of versatility. This is thanks to allowing various usage modes to suit where you want to work or play.
The display is a crisp 10.95-inch IPS panel. It runs a 1920 x 1200 resolution. It's a 16:10 aspect ratio, which is great for productivity. It boasts 10-point multi-touch. Plus, for those who love digital inking, pen input is supported. Details on pressure sensitivity are still under wraps.

Power and Performance in a Small Package
Under the hood, you have a choice. Select the efficient Intel Processor N100 or the more powerful Core i3-1215U. Performance benchmarks show a significant difference between these. Your choice here will depend on your needs. Battery life is provided by a 34.5 Wh battery. All this keeps the weight under 1 kg – at just 978g (charger excluded). Connectivity-wise, it’s equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6, along with dual 2W speakers.
Pricing and Availability
The NPadF is live on Kickstarter now. Its starting prices are kinda impossible to look away from:
- Starting at $499: This base model includes the Processor N100, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
- For $150 more: You can upgrade to the Core i3-1215U version. This also doubles your RAM to 16GB and storage to 512GB.
NPadF aims to start shipping these compact 2-in-1s in April 2025. If you’re intrigued by a blend of portability, unique design, and affordability, the NPadF might just be worth a closer look on Kickstarter.
