Nubia has launched the Flip 2, an affordable folding phone, in Japan. This second-generation model brings notable improvements, including a larger cover display and an upgraded processor, while keeping the price tag budget-friendly.
Larger Cover Display
The Nubia Flip 2 features a 3-inch rectangular cover screen with a resolution of 682 x 422 pixels, replacing the 1.43-inch circular screen of its predecessor. While it isn't explicitly stated whether the cover screen can run full apps, it will likely offer some app navigation and quick notification access.
Internal Display and Cameras
The internal display remains a 6.9-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution. It houses a 32MP front-facing camera in a punch-hole cutout. The dual-camera setup on the back includes a 50MP primary sensor paired with a 2MP depth sensor.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Nubia Flip 2 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X, an upgrade over the previous Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. It also features 128GB of storage, 6GB of RAM, and runs on Android 14.
Other Key Features
The Nubia Flip 2 also includes:
- 4,300 mAh battery with PD 3.0 support.
- IPX2 waterproof and IP4X dustproof ratings.
- Multiple AI-powered features.
Pricing and Availability
The Nubia Flip 2 will be available for purchase in Japan starting on January 23, priced at JPY 64,080, which is approximately $408 USD.
