Alright, gearheads and gamers, mark your calendars! NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, is hitting the stage at CES 2025 to unveil the next generation of GeForce GPUs – the highly anticipated RTX 50 series powered by the "Blackwell" architecture. Get ready for some serious GPU goodness!
It's no secret that NVIDIA plays things close to the vest. We haven't seen any "official" teases of the RTX 50 lineup, despite the fact that the launch is just around the corner. But that's part of the fun, right? The anticipation is palpable!
Join the Party: 25 Years of GeForce
Before the big reveal, NVIDIA is celebrating 25 years of GeForce, calling it the "GeForce Greats" event. Here’s what they have planned:
- #GeForceGreats: Starting December 12th, NVIDIA will be taking a nostalgic trip through the history of PC gaming. Expect memories, debates, and chances to win some awesome mystery boxes (just by engaging on social media!).
- GeForce LAN 50: Get ready for a global 50-hour gaming marathon, both online and in-person! Think contests, prizes, and serious gaming action. The physical LAN events will be in Las Vegas, Beijing, Berlin, and Taipei. Registration opens on December 16th.
The Big Reveal: The Keynote
Finally, the main event! Jensen Huang will kick off CES 2025 with a live keynote on January 6th at 6:30 PM PT. You can watch it on YouTube and Twitch. This is where we'll finally see the Blackwell architecture and the RTX 50 series take the stage.
NVIDIA is playing coy with the details, but between the 25th-anniversary celebrations and the fact that Jensen is opening CES, it's almost a guarantee we'll see the next-gen GeForce lineup. It's all but confirmed! We're expecting some serious performance upgrades, cutting-edge features, and all the NVIDIA goodness we've come to expect.
We've also been treated to a potential teaser of what the next-gen cards might look like! It seems NVIDIA is sticking with a dual-fan, flow-through design but with a sleeker look.
Oh, and that incredible cinematic from The Witcher IV at TGA 2024? It was rendered on an unreleased RTX GPU - likely part of this next-gen family. Just another reason to be excited!
