NVIDIA has announced the GeForce RTX 5090D for the Chinese market, and surprisingly, it shares the same specifications and price as the standard RTX 5090. This is a departure from previous 'D' variants designed for China.
GeForce RTX 5090D: Identical Core Specs
Unlike the previous RTX 4090D, which featured cut-down cores, the new GeForce RTX 5090D is equipped with the same GB202 GPU die, featuring 21,760 CUDA Cores. Furthermore, it matches the RTX 5090 with 32GB of GDDR7 memory running at 28 Gbps, providing 1792 GB/s total bandwidth.
This indicates that any differences between the two models might lie in minor clock adjustments or software limitations. The lack of hardware changes suggests that any potential restrictions can be overcome with BIOS hacks and modifications by enthusiasts once the cards are available.
Custom Models from AIB Partners
While NVIDIA won't offer a Founders Edition of the RTX 5090D in China, several AIB partners are already preparing custom versions. GALAX is listing its 1-Click OC model, featuring a 3-fan design, while Colorful is releasing both Neptune (liquid-cooled) and Vulcan (air-cooled) versions of the RTX 5090D. These custom designs will likely come at a higher price than the base MSRP.
Pricing and Availability
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D will have the same MSRP as the standard RTX 5090, priced at $1999 USD. For the Chinese market, this translates to around 14,999 RMB, including taxes. Keep in mind that custom models are expected to be priced slightly higher.
