Oppo teases the launch of the OnePlus Open 2/Find N5, set to be the world's thinnest foldable smartphone, launching in February 2025.

Oppo is teasing the upcoming launch of the OnePlus Open 2, also known as the Oppo Find N5, with a preview image and a launch window. The successor to the OnePlus Open/Oppo Find N3 is set to break records as the world's thinnest foldable smartphone, surpassing even the Honor Magic V3.

February Launch Window Confirmed

Oppo's Senior Vice President, Liu Zuohu, announced on Chinese social media platform Weibo that the Oppo Find N5/OnePlus Open 2 will launch in China between February 1st and 28th, 2025. The global launch is likely to follow, potentially at the Mobile World Congress in early March.

Thinner Than Ever Before

A key highlight of the teaser is the device's thickness, which is reportedly less than 9.2mm when folded and 4.4mm when unfolded. This would make it thinner than the current record holder, the Honor Magic V3, which measures 9.2 mm and 4.4mm, respectively. The teaser image shows the device as noticeably less bulky than a pencil.

Expected Features

The OnePlus Open 2/Oppo Find N5 will feature:

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite processor
  • Hasselblad camera system
  • Three 50MP camera sensors
  • Periscope lens
  • Wireless charging
  • Waterproof housing

Early renders suggest the design will be similar to the original OnePlus Open, with flat edges and rounded corners.
