PowerColor has become the first AMD AIB (Add-in-Board) partner to officially tease its next-gen Radeon RX 9070 XT Red Devil GPU, based on the new RDNA 4 architecture.
With AMD's RDNA 4 GPU lineup launch just days away, PowerColor has posted an image of what appears to be the Radeon RX 9070 XT, showcasing a new backplate design. This GPU is part of the flagship "Red Devil" series, which typically boasts the highest out-of-the-box boost clocks.
In a recent X post, PowerColor stated:
When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss glows red in return.
Are you ready to face the abyss’s gaze?
The image reveals a metal backplate, likely for improved heat dissipation, and features the Red Devil logo with LED backlighting.
The PowerColor RX 9070 XT is expected to offer a higher boost clock than the reference design, which is rumored to reach 3.1 GHz. A boost of 100-200 MHz could be expected on this card along with a higher TBP for better overclocking. The reference design has a TBP of 260W, while custom designs could reach up to 330W. These cards will likely feature dual 8-pin PCI-E connectors, although a 12V-2x6 connector remains a possibility.
This teaser is likely the first of many as AIBs gear up for the official launch, but keep an eye out for more leaked images before the official release.
