Razer has introduced its new Blade 16 at CES 2025, boasting a remarkably thin design that makes it the company’s slimmest gaming laptop ever. The new Blade 16 not only reduces thickness by 32%, but it also comes with an AMD Ryzen AI processor and improved keyboard key travel.
Thinner than Ever
The 2025 Razer Blade 16 is only 0.59 inches thick at its thinnest point, significantly thinner than its 0.87-inch predecessor and even slimmer than the 16.2-inch 2024 MacBook Pro.
To achieve this slim form factor, there's a smaller 90Wh battery than previous model, but Razer has compensated with faster charging and improved cooling technology.
Performance and Features
Key changes under the hood include:
- AMD Ryzen AI HX 370 processor
- GPU upgrade (specific details not provided)
- Six-speaker audio system (up from four)
- Dedicated Windows Copilot key
Razer has retained the 240Hz OLED display but didn't specify whether a Mini-LED option will be available. The previous model's OLED display had a 420-nit brightness, compared to the Mini-LED option's 1000 nits.
Connectivity
The Razer Blade 16 retains its connectivity options:
- 2x USB-A ports
- 1x USB-C 3.2 port
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- SD card reader
- USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port
- HDMI 2.1 port
Improved Keyboard
Razer claims up to a 50% increase in key travel compared to its previous models, despite the reduced thickness. This improvement can significantly enhance the overall typing experience.
Pricing and Availability
The ultra-thin Razer Blade 16 is scheduled for public release in Q1 of this year. Pricing has not yet been disclosed.
