The development team behind Skyblivion, the ambitious total conversion mod that recreates The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in Skyrim, has reaffirmed its 2025 release window in a recent progress update.
Progress Update
The team provided updates on various aspects of development:
- World Map: The world map is nearing completion with only the Nibenay region left. Significant portions of Cyrodiil are ready to explore.
- Landscapes: 93% of the game world is complete with exceptions like the Nibenay Valley and Basin, but only 44% is navmeshed. The team is actively seeking volunteers to accelerate navmesh creation and 3D artists specializing in plants.
- Quests: Significant progress has been made on quests. Only six of the 100+ quests remain untouched.
- Music: All original music from Oblivion has been ported to Skyrim. Additionally, 24 new tracks have been added, including region-specific themes and boss battle themes.
DLCs Planned for After Launch
While Skyblivion is intended to include DLCs such as the Shivering Isles expansion, these will not be available at launch. The team is focused on releasing the base game in 2025, and they will tackle DLCs after the main game's release.
