The Snapdragon 8s Elite, Qualcomm's upcoming sub-premium mobile chipset, has made its first appearance on Geekbench, providing key performance and configuration details ahead of its official launch.
Geekbench Listing Details
A Geekbench listing, reportedly from the iQOO Z10 Turbo, reveals that the Snapdragon 8s Elite has a core configuration similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The listing shows:
- One prime core at 3.21 GHz
- Three cores at 3.01 GHz
- Two cores at 2.80 GHz
- Two cores at 2.20 GHz
It is speculated the prime core is a Cortex-X4, the next three are Cortex-A720 cores, and the last pair are Cortex-A520 cores. While the core layout is the same, the 8s Elite has lower clock speeds than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The scores on Geekbench reflect this, with a single-core score of 1967 and a multi-core score of 5827. (For comparison, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scores an average of 2106 and 6638, respectively). The Geekbench listing also indicates the presence of Android 15, 12GB of RAM, and an Adreno 825 GPU.
Performance Expectations
Based on the Geekbench results and clock speeds, the Snapdragon 8s Elite is expected to deliver slightly lower CPU performance than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. However, sources indicate that this is an early version, and final performance may improve.
Expected Devices & Launch
The Snapdragon 8s Elite is expected to be widely adopted by OEMs such as OPPO and Xiaomi, with devices like the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro being named as likely candidates to feature the chipset. A launch is anticipated around March or April.
