Xiaomi has released the Redmi Note 14 4G as a successor to the Redmi Note 13 4G. The new model offers a blend of improvements and compromises compared to its predecessor. Additionally, a new Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G has also been announced.
Redmi Note 14 4G: Upgrades and Downgrades
While retaining the 108MP primary and 2MP macro sensors from the Redmi Note 13 4G, the Redmi Note 14 4G boasts a better 20MP front-facing camera. However, it replaces the 8MP ultra-wide with a 2MP depth sensor. The phone has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, with an upgrade from Gorilla Glass 3 to Gorilla Glass 5. The use of MediaTek's Helio G99 Ultra chip yields over a 30% performance boost compared to the previous model. It also comes with a larger 5,500mAh battery.
The Redmi Note 14 4G will be available later this month in the following configurations:
Configuration | Price (Approx.) |
---|---|
6 GB RAM/128 GB storage | £179/€199.90 (~$206) |
8 GB RAM/128 GB storage | €229.90 (~$237) |
8 GB RAM/256 GB storage | £229/€249.90 (~$258) |
Available in Lime Green, Ocean Blue, Mist Purple, and Midnight Black.
Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G: A New Pro Option
Xiaomi has expanded the Redmi Note 14 series with the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G, a less powerful but more affordable alternative to the existing 5G Pro models. This device uses a MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra chipset, complemented with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage in some markets. The camera system is mostly the same as the 5G model except that the front camera has been downgraded to a 32MP unit.
It also has some other downgrades, including a 1080p display, IP64 certification and Bluetooth 4.3 connectivity. The device does have a 5,500 mAh battery with 45W fast charging, compared to its 5G counterpart.
The Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G will be available from January 15 with a starting price of €349.90 (~$361) for the 8GB RAM/256GB model.
