The design may echo the iPhone 14, but the iPhone 16e has much in common with the standard iPhone 16 under the hood. They are dimensionally virtually twins. The 16e now has Super Retina XDR OLED displays with the same sharpness of 460 pixels per inch. It comes alive with the same lightning-fast Apple A18 processor, capable of supporting Apple's new AI features, Apple Intelligence. Key Differences Explained
Apple made separations between models. The main differences are:
- The Camera: The iPhone 16e has a single 48MP rear camera, without a dual-camera setup like the iPhone 16.
- Display Notch: The 16e maintains the notch. The iPhone 16 appears to have the refined hole-punch style cutout.
- MagSafe: Not available on the 16e. Wireless charging stays, but no magnetic attachment and fast charging support offered by MagSafe.
Apple Modem and Battery Life Boost
The iPhone 16e is the first iPhone to utilize Apple's in-house C1 modem, severing ties from Qualcomm. Apple claims it is "the most battery-efficient modem ever on an iPhone." The result is potentially better battery life. Apple says the iPhone 16e can stream video for 21 hours, a significant improvement over the iPhone 16's 18 hours.
Charging Details
Both phones offer regular Qi wireless charging and wired charging of 20 watts or faster via USB-C. 30 minutes of plugged-in charging should bring the battery to 50%, according to Apple.

The iPhone 16e is a considerable jump forward for Apple's entry-level offerings. It delivers modern features, good performance, and good battery life, while being more pocket-friendly at a price from $599.
