The Wilds Roadmap: What We Now Know

Okay, some details are still surrounded by fog, customary Capcom style. Here are the key details. Two free title updates are coming in early April and again during the summer of 2025. Expect new monsters to hunt, special event quests to tackle, possibly enemies tougher than anything you have seen, and even a social hub to hang out with buddies. It sounds pretty awesome.

Spring Update: Mizutsune and More

Remember the State of Play trailer released in February? That gave us our first glimpse of Mizutsune returning. Yes, this serpentine leviathan, a fan-favorite from Monster Hunter Generations, is coming back to Wilds after being missed in World. The Spring update is not just about Mizutsune.

Official Monster Hunter tweets indicate that this April update will release with a promise: "A monster of formidable strength at a level above Tempered." This is interesting. Capcom may be alluding to some of the early difficulty complaints. It continues to say: "Another challenging monster will also await you."

Double Monster Drop in April

Some tweets do not even mention Mizutsune. Is it to be inferred that Mizutsune is separate from these two forms of "formidable" and "challenging" beasts? It certainly sounds that way. By this count, we could be looking at THREE new monsters introduced just in the Spring update. Capcom is certainly teasing.

A Social Hub: Hunter Hangout Incoming

Monster madness is not the only thing on the menu for the April update. The tweet also hints at a "new place to meet, communicate, have meals together and more with other hunters." Finally, a real social hub. Sometimes you just want to hang out with your squad, strategize, show off your gear, or just eat together before heading out on the hunt. There is no dedicated social spot in Wilds right now, so this is a welcome addition. Imagine a bustling hunter's tavern or a cozy campfire spot; the possibilities are exciting.

Get Ready to Hunt

The Monster Hunter Wilds roadmap is already taking shape, and it is very promising. Free updates filled with newer monsters, stronger challenges, and social features are set to keep the hunt alive and kicking under Capcom well beyond launch. April and Summer 2025 will arrive soon.
